Dear Editor: I am writing on behalf of Burnaby school crossing guards. We are a breed akin to postal workers and paper carriers in that we are on the job in the heat, the cold, the rain, the snow, the wind, etc.

Try as I might, I just can't wrap my brain around it. Every year, I'm left scratching my head over this vague "they're destroying Christmas" notion that starts to float around.

If you haven't been taking notes, it's hard to recall the sheer number of black eyes the RCMP has gotten over the past year or two - or even the past couple of weeks.

Dear Editor: I would like to make some comments about the "smart" meters. The arguments against are quite clear, so I won't bother repeating them. The arguments for are generally specious, so I won't bother addressing them.
