Lucas Gatto of Burnaby won his age division at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour British Columbia series at The Harvest Golf Club in Kelowna July 24.

Burnaby athletes shared in eight of Zone 4's 11 gold medals at the B.C. Summer Games in Surrey. Long distance runner Jemal Reta won two individual gold in track and field, winning both the boys' 2,000 metres and 1,500m steeplechase.

The Burnaby Lakers are still alive in the Western Lacrosse Association playoff race after a sorry effort at home on Friday. The senior A Lakers eliminated the Nanaimo Timbermen from the post season, holding on to an 11-10 win on Sunday.

The playoff picture in the Western Lacrosse Association is appearing to become a little clearer. But what isn't as certain is on what side of the playoff cutoff line the Burnaby Lakers might fall.
