New Montessori preschool planned

A new child-care centre, Seeds and Roots Montessori, has been proposed for the Bainbridge Avenue area of Burnaby. The facility, with space for 53 children, is planned for 2830 Bainbridge Ave.

Mill to close: 100 lose jobs

The Norampac containerboard mill in Burnaby is shutting down by Dec. 1, according to a press release from parent company Cascades Inc. The closure means 100 workers will lose their jobs.
