Dear Editor: Re: Legalize assisted suicide now, Letters to the editor, Burnaby NOW, Jan. 31. I read this letter with great amazement.

Dear Editor: Noam Chomsky is credited with saying "The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion but allow very lively debate within that spectrum.

The second official B.C. Family Day statutory holiday is Monday. Chances are most of us will be putting our feet up watching TV, going shopping or taking off to the ski slopes for a fun-filled break.

It deeply concerns us that there is, at the very least, room for confusion around the preferred Burnaby route for Kinder Morgan's expansion of the Trans Mountain pipeline and who may be affected by it (see story here ).

Dear Editor: During last year's provincial election, Christy Clark promised that any new funding for TransLink would be decided by a referendum held in conjunction with the 2014 municipal elections. It was a bad idea then, it's a bad idea now.

Dear Editor: There are changes coming to the Burnaby routes.I am a transit operator based in Burnaby for the past 17 years. I have worked on both the No. 49 and the No. 116, which are slated for changes.

Of all the many controversies that have dogged the B.C. Liberals during their near-13 years in power, few match their inept, wrongheaded and, in the end, illegal actions against two public sector unions.

It would appear that before Mayor Corrigan posts a video on Youtube claiming that B.C. is turning into a "Banana Republic" he should take the time to get his facts straight.
