Dear Editor: Re: Ethnic votes scandal has ties to city politicos, Burnaby NOW, March 6. I can't understand the fuss being made over a plan to reach out to the province's ethnic populations.

Although Canadians may disagree about a lot of things, most share a common aspiration to look after aging family members and give a good start to younger ones.

Dear Editor: This is not about 20/20 hindsight. This is a straight forward, "I told you so." In all fairness, I did not really tell you so. And, being completely honest, my wife had a lot more to say than I did.

Dear Editor: I would be lying if I said I was shocked to learn last week that the governing party was using cynical ploys and tax dollars to woo the votes of ethnic communities.

It's not new. The plotting to find out how best to lure voters of any single persuasion to join, or at least support, one political party over another.

Canadian governments spend around $45,000 annually per retiree and just $12,000 per citizen under age 45.

Dear Editor: We're paying fifteen million bucks for TV ads extolling Libs, to waste our money really sucks we've got to stop their outright fibs.

We see a police officer bit by an unruly night club patron. TransLink proudly proclaimed in a recent press release the incidence of bus drivers getting beat up has declined "significantly" in past months. Yet the numbers remain appalling.
