Dear Editor: Re: Then and NOW: Motoring through Burnaby's history, Burnaby NOW. Read your article re the Silver Bros. Garage, and it brought back so many memories. I was raised in the Kingsway (McKay) area.

The recent media buzz and public obsession surrounding the rogue snakehead fish in Burnaby's Central Park pond brought to light a larger irony.

Dear Editor: There has been a barrage of commentary these past months that sings the praises of the Enbridge and Kinder Morgan pipeline proposals, both of which rely on tankers to ship heavy crude to China and refineries elsewhere in the world.

It's probably a decade too late, but for most citizens in the Lower Mainland this week's hospital road show by the Liberals was still a welcome sight.

Dear Editor: Leave it to two non-native species, that being myself and the Burnaby snakehead, to reveal the true frankenfish of Burnaby. The creature that ought to be left high and dry, lungs without air, is the leadership of the City of Burnaby.

Dear Editor: Re: Residents irate over big jump in property taxes, Burnaby NOW, June 1, and Tax hikes outrageous, Letter to the editor, Burnaby NOW, June 1. I couldn't agree more with the com-ments of the homeowners in these articles.

Dear Editor: Regarding the ruckus over the snakehead fish in the Central Park pond, I really worry about the world sometimes. Firstly, is anyone thinking about how much money has been wasted on this fish, more than I care to pay as a taxpayer.

Does the all-carrot-no-stick education philosophy work? An Edmonton teacher recently got himself in hot water when he said he would not abide by the school district's "No Zeros" policy.

Dear Editor: Last year I paid the amount of $4,879.35 as property tax, and this year I have to pay $5,459.97 - a difference of $580.64 in a year's time.
