It wasn’t their style, according to a long-time friend, but two Burnaby seniors renewed their wedding vows this week after being reunited at a local care home.

Burnaby residents have three options to celebrate Canada Day this year. 54-40 is headlining the free Canada Day concert at Swangard Stadium on Wednesday, July 1. Gates open at 5 p.m., the show starts at 6:30 p.m., and there will be fireworks at dusk.

Don’t miss Burnaby’s biggest street party of the year. Hats Off Day is this Saturday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Hastings Street between Boundary and Gamma.

Fans of the community bike fair for kids now have two locations to choose from. The bike fair, which is always a huge hit, will take place at the regular venue on Friday, June 5 at Edmonds Community School. The fair runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
