Simon Fraser University finished out of the basement in Great Northwest conference varsity football this season.

Simon Fraser University outpointed the University of Victoria and Team China for first place at the Clan Cup International swim meet. Meghan Quon led all Clan swimmers with a total of 39 points at the meet.

Seventeen-year-old Brandon Morley earned a spot on the regional B.C./Alberta Canada West squad for the World Junior A Hockey Challenge that will get underway in Langley Nov. 7 to 13.

Burnaby's Adam Helewka helped propel the Northwest Giants into second place in the B.C. major midget hockey standings. Helewka tallied the game-winning goal in the Giants' 3-1 victory over the Valley West Hawks at the Burnaby Winter Club on Sunday.
