I always have a hard time answering when someone asks me, "So, are you all ready for Christmas?" In one sense, there's an easy answer.

Dear Editor: Re: Tree bylaw should be stricter, Burnaby NOW, Letters to the editor, Dec. 11. I think I get it - T. Wispinski thinks those who write letters are radicals, but not her because she doesn't normally do so.

Christmas is a season of giving and celebrating —especially in Burnaby.

Rawnie Dunn just wants to die and end her suffering. This is not a spur-of-the-moment decision. It is not a decision made lightly. It is certainly not an easy choice.

In spirit of the holidays, the feeling of giving is in the air, and multiple Burnaby schools are making a difference in the lives of many this Christmas.

It would be impossible to find someone as universally revered as former South African president Nelson Mandela. With his death, the bright light of a moral titan has been dimmed. Mandela's legacy is vast and complex.

Dear Editor: Re: Scum: Is it good or bad?, Burnaby NOW, Dec. 4. On page 3 we see a forlorn looking Burnaby resident, with knitted brow and arched eyebrows, having found a "scum" covered puddle in a "ditch" near a drainage area by Burnaby Lake.
