The B.C. government recently rejected the recommendation of the Union of B.C. Municipalities to reinstate Riverview Hospital. Our government has made the right decision.

Dear Editor: Earlier this month the Union of B.C. Municipalities voted down a proposal from Victoria to lower the speed limit in urban areas to 40 km/hr from 50.

It's been said that municipal government is the closest to the people. If the federal government were to disappear tomorrow - so goes an old yarn - it would take about a month to notice.
